Hilton Head Island boasts a truly remarkable variety of restaurants for an island only 12 miles long and 5 miles wide. Their specialties range from French and continental cuisine rivaling that in New York, Chicago and Washington, to fast food.
Of course, as might be expected of a barrier island, Hilton Head also has a broad variety of excellent seafood restaurants.
You may have come to Hilton Head to enjoy the beach, to play golf or tennis, or for business purposes. But while you are here, be sure to enjoy some of the gourmet experiences or just plain good food that Hilton Head has to offer!
HOW MANY RESTAURANTS ARE THERE?
How many restaurants does Hilton Head have? Although the number seems to increase all the time, counting ice cream parlors, diners presently may choose from over 200! Their specialties range from Seafood to French, and from American to Continental.
Some readers may be surprised that Hilton Head has more restaurants categorized as "American" than as "Seafood." After all, the nearby waters are filled with seafood of many kinds. The number or restaurants specializing in seafood really reflects only those that choose to be listed that way and/or that prepare seafood in largely traditional ways. Please be assured that many other types of restaurants serve excellent seafood too! As a matter of fact, some of the best seafood available is found in "non-seafood" restaurants. Conversely, it often is possible to find excellent beef or other entrees at restaurants categorized as seafood!
